Together with one of our clients, we participated in a project to develop hydraulic assist drives for self-loading and hook-lift trailers. The system introduces additional pulling power to the tractor by adding hydraulically driven wheels to one or two trailer axles. The project included assistance in the design of axles adapted to accommodate Poclain MFE08 series hydraulic motors, application calculations, and component selection and delivery. We used high-pressure axial piston pumps operating in a closed system for the drive, allowing for excellent hydrostatic braking parameters for the trailer. In addition to the hydraulic components, cooling, and filtration systems, we also supplied an electronic control system with custom software.
